Every year at Christmas I get so emotional! My children start to get so excited about Jesus' birthday coming and how Santa is going to come and visit them. Just seeing the joy in their eyes brings tears to my eyes. Tonight as I was driving home from work I took in all of the Christmas sites and began to cry. Last year at this time my husband and I were struggle financially and the holidays were more of a heart ache than anything else. Last Thanksgiving we had lost our van, our only transportation for our family and we were about to lose our apartment. My husband was working for a company that over worked him and under paid him. He was still recovering from his work accident and times were very rough. As Christmas rolled around things didn't get any better. Our family helped us through it all and without them and the good grace of God I don't know how we would have ever made it. My wonderful Grandparents drove to PA from SC two days before Christmas to give us their old car as a Christmas gift to us. Although they wished it could have been more it was the best gift ever to us! There were disappointed that it wouldn't fit all of us but it was the most they could do. Which was more than we could have ever asked for! We were so thankful for such a wonderful gift from them! Although there were several times where we hardly had enough money to feed our kids and my husband and I often didn't eat so that they could have more. It was such a rough time and I still don't know how we got through it. Just last weekend our church hosted a Thanksgiving Day dinner for the less fortunate in our area. It was so sad to see so many families that were in need. I saw a young mother with her three children waiting in line in the cold snowy weather. Her children were crying and they looked very cold. I felt so badly for them and wished that there were something that I could have done for them. It made me think of my own children and how as a parent it's so hard to watch your children go through those rough times. I cried so hard that day and I prayed for the young mother and her children. I am so grateful for everything that I have. God has blessed my family with so many things and even during our rough times I knew that he would always get us through it all. We try and teach our children that no matter what God is always on their side and he will always be there to get you though those rough times. This year my husband got a better job making more money than his last job. He is even home more often! I took on a part time job at night and started my own photography business. We are keeping our faith and know that things will continue to get better for us! We are saving up for another van and hope that by next year we will have met our goal! We can't wait! It will be so nice to be able to go places as a family again! Our kids are so excited about our birthday party for Jesus this year! They are already planning for his birthday cake! Dominic thinks he should have a blue power ranger cake, Noah wants him to have a batman cake, Tyson and Blake want an Elmo cake, and Tyler just simply wants cake!!! So it will be fun to see what kind of cake Jesus may get! Remember Jesus is the reason for the season! The picture above is our house this year decorated for Christmas! The picture didn't turn out as good as I would have liked but I took it with my camera phone after I got home from work. God Bless everyone this holiday season!

I love this picture of my husband and my kids! Just playing around on a blanket with their snacks waiting to watch a parade! I thought this was cute how they all decided to jump on Daddy!
Today I was going through some pictures of my kids and I always think it so much fun to see how much they have grown from months before. This is by far my favorite picture of my little one! I think he looks so cute! Isn't it funny how children can turn simple moments into life time memories? This is my little guy at my parents house after our 4th of July Parade. It was raining and my Aunt had her umbrella with her he thought it was fun to play under. Since he is so short this is the view that we had of him! So cute!!!
Every year the little town that I live in has a big parade at night and the night is known as our light up night! This is the best time of year for my kids as they enjoy this parade so much more then the others that they see the rest of the year. Although we always FREEZE it's nice taking out hot chocolate and being with family to watch this amazing parade. Since I live right in town I always try and decorate my house for Christmas before the big parade. So this year like every year I decided to tackle the task by myself! Every year I change the I decorate giving the neighbors something new to expect. I always try and stay very simple but Christian like and I try not to over do it. I live right across the road from a center that takes care of elderly people. Most of the people living in the building have their motorized wheel chairs and several of them sit on the porch and watch the neighbors and the things that go on during the day. So I take on the decorating of my house during the afternoon while my kids are at school expect my youngest. He is well entertained with his Elmo movie and is cuddling with our dog. I decided this year I was going to wrap our two front windows with wrapping paper and put nice red bows on them. I couldn't wait! My theme this year is red and gold. I started the wrapping process thinking this was going to be an easy task. How hard could it be right?? Well on this nice cold day it was also windy! I had a nice crowd of wheelchair watches and I went right at it! My windows are very tall so I needed to get something to get me up higher onto the house. I'm up there about to start unrolling the wrapping paper. I have my handy tape with me and I'm all set! I get up there I get it taped to the top of the window and a big gust of wind comes along and there goes the wrapping paper!!!! I look over to see a few of my neighbors laughing at the site. Oh no I was not giving in I was getting that window wrapped if it took me all day!!! UGG!!! After an hour of just trying to get one wrapped and my neighbors getting such an entrainment out of me I decided forget this I'm waiting for my husband! So my husband gets home and he gets the other window done in record time and I'm sitting there in disbelieve! He is bragging up his window and just how wonderful it looks and it's perfect in every way! Right down to the bow being perfect in the center. So I go to work and later on that night when I get home I come home to find my window still decorated perfect but my husband's window was not the same! The bow he put up was falling down and the top of the wrapping paper was coming down as well! So I had to wake him and tell him that maybe the next time he should take his time a little more because my not so perfect window was perfect!!!! I'm still not done with my master piece yet and will take a picture of it to show you all once I'm finished. The big parade is on Saturday night but I am sick with the flu now and hope I'm better by tomorrow so I can finish it!
Okay so I'm trying to keep up with this blog stuff but I'm not doing so well! I'm doing a few days worth all in one night! I should be in bed now and I'll be paying for this tomorrow but I guess we have to live a little!
So tonight I got off work at 11:30pm! YEA!!! 30 mins earlier!! I came home to the house being very quite! Annie our dog usually greets me but not tonight! Instead it was our cat, Lily! I usually get a snack for myself once I get home from work so I was beginning to get my snack when I heard a strange noise coming from our downstairs bathroom. I wasn't sure what it was so I headed to the bathroom to check it out. My kids always keep little cups beside our sink to wash their mouths out after brushing their teeth and sometimes they forget to dump out the left over water. Well our cat Lily there she was with a cup stuck on her face moving back and forth trying to get it off! If you could have seen her!!! It was so funny! I had to laugh I must say I have never seen a cats face stuck inside a childs cup before! I helped get the cup off of her face and then I said to her why didn't you just get a drink out of your bowl! My cat will drink water from every place in our house except for her bowl!!! I have no idea why but she's stranges! Cute as a button but she does some crazy things!!!
Okay well I'm headed for bed before I start another crazy day!!! Night all!
Blake is my youngest and I still consider him my baby even though he is two years old now. He has me wrapped around his little finger and I think that just about everybody knows it. He still loves to cuddle with his Mommy and we watch tv together and take naps together still. My husband says I really need to stop but I just can't. I knew that after I had Blake that he would be my last child and letting him grow up is just so hard for me. Given that he is on top of everything else the runt of our family makes it even that much harder. We play kissy checks and all kinds of other silly games. My other boys are Mommy's boys too but they aren't in to being around Mommy as much as they used to and would much rather go play with one another than with me. So sad!!!
Anyway, this weekend my poor Blake was so sick! Well I have to say it was my Dad's fault! He'll even tell you it was. My youngest son is so attached to me that he doesn't stay with other people very often. My parents called this weekend and wanted to take Blake for the weekend. As sad as I was to be away from my little guy I agreed. He was so excited and we packed his little back pack (he had to have one because he felt left out, he's the only child not in school) and off to Nana and Pup's house we went. On Sunday morning my Mom called me to say that her and my dad had been up all night with Blake. He had been sick all night long! My dad later asked me do you give him chocolate milk a lot and cookies? I replied to him, NO!!!! He doesn't get that at my house!!! He can have one cup of chocolate milk a day but I rarely give him cookies!!! My dad said opps well I feed him cookies and chocolate milk all night!!! OH my!!!! My dad felt so bad! I guess he has learned his lesson seeing as he had been puked on two times in the middle of the night! Which he stated was not a good experience!
On Sunday he was starting to feel better but was very tired and still wanting to lay around. We brought him back to our house and he couldn't wait to lay on the couch with Mommy. Now Blake is so cute! He loves hats and jackets and he never wants to take them off! We live in PA and the weather here is very cold so he had on his winter jacket and winter hat! He would not take off his jacket and hat for nothing! He cried and cried and said he just had to keep them on! So we some how were able to get the jacket off but no way was that hat coming off! So he laid on the couch with me and we watched a movie with his hat on! He even fell asleep with it on and it was so cute! When he was sleeping I started taking it off of his head and wouldn't you know he wakes up and says "No, Mommy my hat!" So the hat stayed on! Isn't it cute how kids just have special things that they just can't part with? Blake carries around a lamb that he calls his blankie, and a big stuffed animal that is a dog, we call him Doggy! LOL! Tyson also has a big doggy he likes to carry around and Tyler has a much smaller dog but doesn't mind being without it. Noah has his blankie with him 24/7 and Dominic is the only one that doesn't sleep or carry around anything. Kids are so cute but they grow up WAY too fast!!!
So as you all know I love my pug so much! Well I am always saying what a good dog she is and how much I love her. In fact I even spoil her as much as I do my boys! My husband is always reminding me that she is in fact a dog. I let Annie go where ever we go no matter where she is always with us. Even a simple trip to Walmart and she's in the car with her blankie headed to the store. The other night my husband and I got the chance to go out without kids! WOW that's a shock right?? So what do I do I insist on taking our little puggy girl, Annie alone for the ride. When Annie is left alone at home she gets very upset and this usually leads to pooping in her create and then me having to clean up the mess! So we got to Walmart and my husband and I went in and did some shopping and it was very late at night. We went after I got off work which is at 12pm! Yes, we are crazy but it's the best time to shop!!! No lines and less people! Anyway, we get out to the car after doing our shopping and I go to sit down in the car while I have tons of stuff still in my hands. I put down my purse and my husband starts screaming NO!!!! STOP!!!! I can't figure out what the heck is going on and why on earth he is yelling so much. Then he just starts laughing! I then realize that the my oh so wonderful baby girl pooped on her blankie on my front seat!!!! UGG!!!!! My husband still laughing mind you can hardly control himself and says he is going to clean up the mess since I still have all these bags in my hands. Well let me just say that men never seem to clean things the way a women would do it! I'm standing right by the door and he just takes the blanket and starts shacking it! So now poo goes flying everywhere and a big piece of it sticks right to my side door window!!!! SICK!!! So now he is laughing even harder so hard he's about to pee himself and I'm standing there so anger! At this point I'm not sure if I'm more mad at my dog or my idiot husband who has just tossed poo everywhere!!! MEN!!! So finally he gets it all out of the car but puts it right in front of where I have to walk to get into the car. It's very dark out and I go to get in the car and what do you know I step in it!!! By this point I couldn't even help myself but to sit down and laugh about it too! My husband laughed so hard the entire way home. Even when our kids aren't there to entertain us we still have the good old good to give us a good laugh! UGG!!!!!
So this year my husband and I finally decided to get our kids a dog! UGG!!! I didn't know how well things were going to go with having a dog and my busy schedule! To be honest I would have had a dog a long time ago but I always felt like I wouldn't have time to give him/her the attention that they needed. Well we took the leap and let me tell you it has been the best experience ever!!! With having five boys it's nice to have a girl in the house besides myself! She is precious in every single way and has come to be just another kid in our household! She has just as many clothes as my kids do! She is spoiled to death! We are really enjoying every moment with her. She is going to show and tell with Noah on Monday and he is so.... excited to show all of his friends! He is even picking out a special dress for her to wear to his school. We couldn't be more happy with her!
